Life Story:
Chi-Chi Lee Bass Player
Hey there, music lovers! I’m Chi-Chi Lee, the bass-slinging heartbeat of Genocide’a. With my trusty pink bass in hand, I bring the groove that keeps our sound locked in and our fans dancing. Born and raised on the sunny West Coast, I’ve got that laid-back California soul mixed with a fire for life that shines through every riff. Whether I’m chilling on the beach or jamming late into the night, I’m all about finding the silver lining and spreading good vibes. Stick around, and let’s make some memories!
I hail from the golden shores of California—the land of endless summers, epic waves, and that chill vibe that seeps into your bones. Growing up in a gritty neighborhood in Los Angeles, life wasn’t always picture-perfect, but man, it was an adventure that shaped me into the optimistic force I am today. We lived in one of those spots where you double-checked the locks at night and kept an eye out after dark—think chain-link fences, street art on every corner, and the occasional siren serenade. Money was tight; we weren’t scraping by, but Mom stretched every dollar like a pro. My dad, a dedicated Navy man, was out at sea more often than not, chasing horizons and serving our country. I missed him like crazy during those long stretches, but his postcards from exotic ports sparked my wanderlust, and we’d make up for lost time with epic storytelling sessions when he was home. Despite the distance, his love was a constant anchor, and Mom? She was my rock, my cheerleader, my everything—we were like two peas in a pod, turning everyday chores into dance parties and late-night talks under the stars.
To add some spice to those formative years, picture this: I’d sneak out to beach bonfires with friends, learning to surf on borrowed boards while dodging jellyfish and sharing joints under the moonlight (hey, it was LA —what can I say?). There were tough moments, like dodging sketchy crowds or dealing with school bullies, but I always flipped the script—turning a bad day into a sunset run or an impromptu jam session in the garage. Mom encouraged my bass obsession from day one; at 13, I picked up my first beat-up instrument from a pawn shop (self-teaching through endless YouTube riffs and underground club gigs), and she’d blast tunes while I practiced, turning our tiny living room into a mini concert hall. We bonded over thrift store hunts for funky outfits and healthy homemade meals that fueled my endless energy. Life threw curveballs, but I learned early to ride them like a wave: stay balanced, enjoy the rush, and come out smiling.
Then came the big move to Maine—a total culture shock! Swapping palm trees for pine forests, traffic jams for quiet trails, and that wild Pacific roar for the gentle Atlantic lapping. Here, folks leave doors unlocked and keys in cars (mind-blowing!), and the ocean’s so calm it’s like it’s on vacation. But I’ve embraced it, blending my West Coast roots with East Coast charm. No matter where I am, I see the bright side—because life’s too short not to groove through it.

Hobbies
Oh my… That may take up way too much space to list them all here! Let’s just say if it intrigues me, I’ll probably read way too many books on it, then waste hours on endless researching it online. I just get super focused on whatever it is that has my attention in the moment. (I’ve been told I’m like a hyper spastic squirrel one moment and then super chill and relaxed the next. Maybe I have A.D.H.D. or something—oh, and probably O.C.D. I hate things that are out of order or are not lined up perfectly. Side note… I got fired from my first job at a supermarket for taking too long to stock the shelves because I had to align everything just right! (That job sucked!))
Anyway! I’m just me! A girly girl who loves life and just lives life one day at a time. But if I didn’t have to sleep, I’d get so much more done! But then again, I like sleeping and dreaming. At this point, I’m just rambling on about nothing.
Music INFLUENCES:
My bass lines are a mashup of all the sounds that lit a fire in me growing up. From the funky slaps of Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers) and the prog mastery of Justin Chancellor (Tool) and Geddy Lee (Rush), to the viral vibes of Davy504. Then there’s the pop energy from PINK, Arctic Monkeys, The Strokes, Eminem, 50 Cent, Maroon 5, Daft Punk, Christina Aguilera, Matchbox 20, Metallica, AC/DC, Mary J. Blige, Sound Garden, BB King, Johnny Lang, Limp Bizkit, Britney Spears, Michael Jackson, Avril Lavigne, Justin Timberlake, Lady Gaga, NSYNC, Destiny’s Child, Beyoncé, Usher, Alicia Keys, Missy Elliott, OutKast—and anything that has a good beat to it and makes me want to dance!
