About our Drummer

Life Story:

I come straight from the heart of Boston, MA—the city of revolutionaries, wicked winters, and a music scene that’s as tough as it is legendary. Growing up in a working-class neighborhood in Southie, life was all about hustle and heart; think narrow streets buzzing with energy, Red Sox games blasting from every bar, and the constant hum of the T keeping time like a metronome. My folks were blue-collar grinders—Dad worked the docks, Mom held down two jobs as a nurse—and they instilled that no-quit attitude in me early. Music was my escape; I’d bang on pots and pans as a kid, mimicking the drummers I heard on the radio during those long, rainy afternoons. By 12, I scored a beat-up drum kit from a garage sale, and that’s when the obsession kicked in—practicing in our cramped basement till the neighbors complained, channeling all that pent-up energy into rhythms that felt like thunder.

To spice things up, my teens were a wild ride: sneaking into underground clubs in Allston to catch local metal and punk shows, dodging bouncers, and trading licks with older musicians who saw my fire. There were rough patches—family struggles when Dad got laid off, school fights that left me bruised but unbreakable—but I always found solace behind the kit, turning chaos into controlled fury. I honed my skills in Boston’s gritty scene, gigging with blues bands in smoky bars and metal outfits at dive venues, mastering those double-kick assaults and polyrhythms that make crowds lose it. The move to Maine was a game-changer—trading urban grit for wide-open spaces and a tighter-knit crew in Genocidea. It’s quieter here, but that just amps up my intensity; no more city distractions means pure focus on the music. Through it all, I’ve learned to ride the storm—life’s beats may be unpredictable, but with the right groove, you own the tempo.

HOBBIES:

Man, where do I start? Drumming’s my core, but when I’m not behind the kit, I’m sketching out tattoo ideas—got notebooks full of dark, intricate designs inspired by Boston’s Celtic roots and metal album art. I love hitting up late-night spots for impromptu jams, whether it’s blues in a dimly lit bar or just messing around with friends till sunrise. History geek here too; I’ll wander Boston’s Freedom Trail or dive into books on the city’s rock legends. Fitness keeps me sharp—pumping iron or running through foggy streets to build that drummer’s stamina. And yeah, I’m a bit of a tinkerer; customizing my drum setup with DIY mods is my zen zone. Overall, if it’s got edge, rhythm, or a story, I’m in—life’s too short for boring downtime.

Music INFLUENCES:

My beats are forged from the legends who’ve shaped the kit game and beyond. From the blistering precision of Danny Carey (Tool) and Dave Lombardo (Slayer), to the groove masters like John Bonham (Led Zeppelin) and Neil Peart (Rush), plus blues icons like Buddy Rich and rock thunder from Lars Ulrich (Metallica). Throw in eclectic vibes from Questlove (The Roots), Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater), Ginger Baker (Cream), Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers), AC/DC’s Phil Rudd, Soundgarden’s Matt Cameron, B.B. King for those soulful backbeats, Johnny Lang’s blues edge, Limp Bizkit’s nu-metal punch—and anything with a storm of rhythm that hits hard and keeps you locked in!
